Puerto Rico: We Are Sorry
Boston has long been a place where many Puerto Ricans have sought refuge from the systemic exploitation and hardships faced on the island. The city is home to a vibrant and significant Puerto Rican community. I feel a deep responsibility to share the often-overlooked truths about the challenges Puerto Rico continues to face—including the lasting effects of colonialism and economic exploitation.
I want to create space for open dialogue—where those who left the island can reflect, express their regrets, and help raise awareness about the ongoing struggles. My goal is to uplift Puerto Rico, amplify its stories, and advocate for the resources and support needed to help the island heal, thrive, and break free from cycles of abuse and neglect.
